Happy Birthday to my Baby-daddy

I am of course at work all day so we cant spend the day together but Raj will be searching for video cameras today so we can record all of the upcoming excitement. We were able to celebrate last night by going to a great tapas restaurant in Richmond, Si, after a recommendation by Nic and Rich. It was amazing and so fun to have a date night. I truely barely fit at the table but Viv and Gabriel loved the meal too. This pic above was from our amazing trip to Peru last summer. A man selling cotton candy walked by and of course Raj, with his huge sweet tooth asked to hold the stick. What you dont see is the pole almost falling over (it was apparently heavier than it looked) But how cute is Raj.....he is going to be a great dad and I cant wait to see him with the kids.

Shopping

J: I have been terrible about posting recently so I am going to try to briefly update everyone. We are almost 30 weeks and are finally starting to breathe a sigh of relief. We need to make it to at least 34 weeks so we are well on our way. I am still working full time and will soon be starting a string of nights that will take me into my 35 th week. So having foregone excercise forever ago, what other activities am I participating in.... mainly shopping. Online, in stores, you name it. Now that the day of the arrival is approaching and we have furniture to put clothes in, I feel like we need to get ready. These babies may be born naked but they cant stay that way for long. I have put a picture of the diaper bag that Raj bought me for Christmas and a picture of the one piece of warm weather apparel we have for Miss Viv. Can you believe they make pink velvet cargo pants for newborns? Anyway, I have been stuck buying winter sweaters and hats for him and summer dresses for her, so the shopping must go on.

The nursery is nearing completion!

Well, we are very close to completing the nursery, and the only left to do now is decorate & fill it with some babies! We now have two cribs, a comfortable chair and ottoman for mom to sit in for those late night feedings, and the "World's Heaviest Dresser" to hold all the cloths. A special thanks to Dave and Derek for providing the manual labor to get this thing upstairs. I think both of them will probably block my phone number so I can't call and ask them to help me move heavy furniture at 8 o'clock at night. The good news for them is that this is likely the last heavy object, including T.V.'s, that need to be moved for quite while, and they will be rewarded with beer.

Janae is very excited about the dresser because the drawers are massive and deep and will be able to hold a ton of baby stuff. Plus, she can move all the baby clothes out of her dresser and into the nursery. I'm excited because there is no more painting, shelving, moving, or heavy lifting. The only thing left to do is put up a baby gate at the nursry door to keep the dogs out. They have figured out how to bust in through the door while we're at work in order to lay on the carpet, so we have had to lock the door from the outside. The gate will definitely help keep them from breaking and entering.

Off topic, there have been many babies born these past few days. Christina Aguilera and Nicole Ritchie just had their babies, and our friends Naureen and Rammy just had a beautiful baby girl Leila! Congrats to all!

28 Weeks

R: It is simply unbeleivable how fast this pregnancy seems to be going. Janae and I have had a great time with these two the past month, especially since they have been much more active and have really started kicking and punching. For the last four weeks prior to our ultrasound, we were under the impression that Gabriel was extremely active since mom was constantly feeling kicks and punches where he was supposed to be. Janae talked to several of our friends who all told her that if you have an active child in the womb, he/she will be a very active child on the outside. So naturally we assumed that Gabriel was going to be a handful and we would constantly be chasing him around. What we did not expect was when we had our ultrasound this past tuesday, the position of the babies looked like it had been Ms. Vivienne doing most of the kicking and punching for the past month! In fact, it looked like she was returning the favor from a few months ago and was now kicking Gabriel in the head! Our ultrasound tech Beth even said, "She is quite a little spitfire!"

By the way, they are still one boy and one girl. It seems its been more difficult to get a good 3D ultrasound picture because A) they're so crowded together and B) They never sit still long enough to get a good snapshot. That's Ms. Viv giving us the cold shoulder with Gabriel's booty in the background, the other three 3D pictures are of Gabriel- my favorite is the one with his little mouth and nose. I've got to be honest though, this technology still has a long way to go because some 3D pictures can be quite weird and even scary!
